I actually bought it for my dad as a christmas gift. We owned when I was a little girl and loved. My cousin and I sang the theme song all the time. Wonderful movie!

Beautiful music and a story that grips both children and adults. My 5-yr-old watches it over and over and adult guests in our home get easily drawn in if it is playing. We have loaned it out so many times we are buying it to give away for Christmas. Great messages and a first-rate production.

I borrowed this movie years ago from a friend and fell in love with the music. I was thrilled to find the soundtrack right on the dvd. I have been a choir director for 12 years and am thrilled to see the combination of wholesome family movies and wonderful musical scores. I'll definitely be getting this movie for other family members.

Out of 5 stars, this movie deserves 10!! I LOVE it. It is one of the best movies ever made. I am a 3rd and 4th grade teacher and have shown this many times. The kids always love it and want to watch it again. I never worry about the content when I show one of your movies and I usually don't have to worry about them all saying they've seen it - because most of them haven't. I actually have a difficult time choosing which of your movies to show because they are all so good. We love No More Baths, The Buttercream Gang, and The Trial of Old Drum. Thanks for what you are doing!

Our whole family (from age 6 to adult) enjoyed this movie. It was really engaging and entertaining. The extras were great, especially the questions. I loved the morals and lessons exemplified through this film.

We enjoy this movie so much that I wanted to have the DVD version, along with the VHS version, in our library. It is a great movie, all in a family will enjoy it. I have even ordered the music book so that my daughter was able to use one of the songs at a voice recital.

The movie Rigoletto is absolutely my favorite family movie!!
It has beautiful music with a timeless story of kindness, love, and redemption. Once you see this movie you will never forget it!
Before this movie finishes it will bring a tear to your eye.
I highly recommend this movie and make sure you have a friend or family member to watch it with. It is a movie to be shared.

I love the movie Rigoletto. I've been watching it since I was 12 years old. Now I'm 22 and I don't mind watching such a beautiful, sad, and meaningful movie. This movie is great to watch with my girls because I know it will encourage them to work hard for their goals. Also to not judge people by the way they look, but by the way they present themselves to you. You need to know a person before you judge them.

This is my all time favorite of all the many movies
from feature family films. It was given to me back
in the 90's. I'd guess I've seen it more than a dozen times. It brings out the little child in the young and old. I have shared it with many people. the music is very special!

I have watched this wonderful movie so many times now, that I've lost count! It is a beautiful blending of the stories of "Beauty and the Beast" and "Phantom of the Opera", with the great music to go with it! Adding that to the wonderful life lessons held within and you have a very high dollar value for very few dollars! If you're trying to decide whether to buy this film or not...buy it. I would give it 10 thumbs up if I had that many!

Loved this movie. It is like a modern version of Beauty and the Beast. I had seen it before as a child and remembered it. It is good to have a movie that you can watch and know that your kids won't pick up any bad language. I love the idea of having the questions at the end. My children's church kids loved it as well. I first heard the music for Rigoletto on an advertisement at the end of another Family Film... the Music captivated me and I knew I had to see and own this Movie. Rigoletto was every bit as wonderful as the music promised it would be, I watched it with my Son and we cried and cheered. I applaud this company for producing quality family entertainment, and presenting the values so often absent in films of our time. The discussion questions also opened up a wonderful dialogue with my child. We will watch this film over and over. Thank you so very much.

The first time I saw Rigoletto was when I was 9 years old. The movie touched my heart then and it still does to this day. I am now 24 years old and I have a 3 year old daughter and a child on the way. I intend on sharing this film with my family as long as I can.

I just read in Wikipedia that Rigoletto was an opera written in 1850.From what I read it was a standard king's court scandal story."Your" Rigoletto certainly is not such a story.It shows people(strange,ordinary people)as that,people!That goes for the little people(kids) as well.The Depression years setting lends a great deal to the setting.
This title was my first introduction to your business,bought by my wife at a small town grocery store(Christian owner)and it has remained my favorite.
The ugly violence scene is also a lesson to be taken to heart.Violence is ugly,but sometimes necessary(not to imply that was one of those times)

While I personally think this film is very good (though some of the writing and acting is, in my opinion, a bit weak), I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for younger children. The title character isn't necessarily a real nice guy, coming off as a bit of a bipolar Phantom of the Opera displaced to Appalachia. There is also the question of depicting a number of townsfolk performing a hate crime - beating someone to death - without any apparent consequence. Now, in the context of the whole story, and especially for those who will see in the latter a Christian metaphor, these make sense, but for youngsters left the to watch the film without guidance or discussion, the question of how much evil one should be willing to tolerate in order to enjoy a blessing may be left unanswered .

Through the years, Rigoletto has been my favourite movie from your collection. I have watched it with my daughter, but find that I watch it more myself because of the supreme inspiration with which I am filled. Oh, and yes. I cry every time I watch it. this movie is an excellent rendition on the classic tail of beauty and the beast. all the song are beautifly sung and the people in the movi seem like real people in real life not just actors playing a role for a movie. Rigoletto is an excellent movie for all ages.

I owned Rigoletto years ago when my kids were small on VHS. I wanted to own it on DVD so we could continue to enjoy it. My sixteen year old daughter couldn't wait for it to arrive so she could watch it again. Now I can also share it with my grandchildren. It's a wonderful movie that we never tire of watching.

I've had this movie on VHS for a long time. I keep pulling the movie out to watch it. It is a movie that you will enjoy watching. So, I thought it was time to buy the DVD. The music is very beautiful. Everyone needs friends not gossip spread around town that is not true. People judged Ribaldi, on gossip, before that got to know him and to know what he did actually do for them. Know everything before you jump to conclusions. This is a movie that you need to watch. People of all ages can learn something from this movie.

I fell in love with this movie about 15 years ago and this was a repurchase. I have the sound track from when I originally purchased and listen to it alot. My oldest son is 23 years old, he was the first I bought it for and now I have a 5 year old and 3 year old and wanted it for them. Thank you for all you do for family values.

I was given this by a friend about 5 or 6 years ago, and I LOVED IT!!! I loved it so much that I ordered the sheet music for "The Melody Within", which is the song that Bonnie sings towards the end, and sang it in a concert.

I have loved this movie since I was a child. I love how it shows us how to look for the beauty within rather than focusing on outward appearences as our society often does. It also incorporates topics such as hope, giving, poverty, and relationships. This is a great family film.

This is possibly my favorite movie of all time. Watched it first in college at my sis-in-law's house, and loved it so much she got me a copy for Christmas. But I gave that one away during my residency to a little girl stuck in the hospital in recurring spasms of pain from a broken leg in traction. She loved it so much that she asked to watch it over and over. It seemed to take her mind off the pain and make those awful days pass by faster. Even though it was for a great reason, I mourned its loss, since you used to only be able to get it if you were a member of the "movie in the mail" sales feature. Some years later, my Mom found a battered (VHS) copy at a garage sale and gave it to me, knowing I would receive it with joy. I have nursed it along lovingly through the years, until I found this website. How happy I was to know that my treasured Rigoletto was available for sale to the public on DVD! God bless you for all you do to spread love and social decency through film.

This movie shaped my values and helped me realize that you cant judge somebody from the outside, its what is on the inside that counts. Bonnie is a stellar example of perserverance and diligence. This tender film should continue to change lives for the rest of time with profound lyrics like "there is no curse or evil spell, thats worse then one we give ourselves" this film should sing its way to a sequal!

Rigoletto has been a family favorite since i was very young, and this heartwarming film will be passed down from generation to generation in my line of inheritance. "Curiosity killed the cat" is my favorite line, along with others that teach golden values. The only negative thing about rigoletto is that i only own it on VHS, but that soon will have to be changed in order to keep it alive as a tender ruby within our small community of family and friends. And the only improvement (rigoletto fans across the nation say it with me..)... make a sequel!!!

Rigoletto is perhaps one of the most well-written musical stories I have ever seen. I showed this to a group of my students as a special treat. Each child was spell-bound. I would like to know where to purchase the sheet music. At the conclusion of the story, many students wept. At least 15 asked for your website so they could purchase it. Thank you for such a quality film. I am a teacher of music and what I liked most was the higher quality of the singing throughout.

I've had this movie since I was really little and when I watched it back then I really didn't understand it. I just knew that my mom liked it so I figured I liked it too. Then there was about a 5-year period that I didn't watch it. Instead I got caught up in reading all types of fairy tales. For a low-budget film this is very good! It definitely has that quirky kid appeal yet is rich enough in message to hold the attention of any age. It will probably make you cry the first time because the issues addressed are so relatable.
I appreciate that the adults drink soda together instead of getting drunk, that alcoholism is not seen as a natural response to tough times.
The music is lovely and not "dressed up" (you might cringe at a few notes sung out of tune, but it adds to the realism). And the filming location was beautiful, too.
***SPOILER WARNING***
There is no graphic violence, but some younger children may be frightened by a mob scene and the possible deaths of characters.
I took off a star because the acting seems forced and overdone a lot of the time, and some of the scripting could have been better.
