I bought this one back in the early 90's......It's
magical! It teaches values. The true magic is believing in ones self as the movie teaches. I've
watched it many times.

I enjoyed the film. It was a realistic portrayal of life for a boy of his age. I am just saddened that this good boy should have to put up with so much inside his family unit and not receive hardly anything in the way of positive feedback. The movie clearly helped me see where I could treat my family members better, even though my children have already left home.

I enjoyed this film because it confronted our misconceptions. Ben's father assumed Ben was always wrong when it was clear he had his priorities straight. The community's misconception of Regina and her grandmother was wrong just because they were different. The final misconception was the idea that money is everything as they found happiness in the simple things like family and skipping a stone across the water. Very nice family entertainment.
