Even though everyone else is willing to let Nowata’s football team, the Possums, die, Will Clark refuses to give up on the team. Will begins announcing imaginary “radio play” games, which the Possums win. But after Will’s made-up team wins the state tournament, the real state champs show up. Fired up by their imaginary wins, the Possums come together and accept the challenge.
