The Inheritance
Raised as a paid companion to the Hamiltons’ daughter Amy in 1870s Massachusetts, Edith, an orphan, has come to accept her lower social status. But when she is attracted to a man out of her reach, she finds herself struggling with her place in society. When Mrs. Hamilton’s cousin Ida comes to visit, she becomes jealous of Edith and schemes to cast suspicion on her. But Edith, who has discovered a secret about her own past, proves that loyalty and friendship are more important than social standing or great riches.
