Well-acted, with a great cast (Paul Winfield, Alfonso Ribeiro, Terence Knox). The movie is compact in length (58 minutes) but an effective "montage" sequence fills in and adds to an excellent flow. The story is an inspiring, feel-good family film, with the message similar to "Lean on Me" or "Coach Carter," but styled for a younger audience. I have seen it many times and never grow tired of it. A great story of character and perseverence for young people. This deserves to be available on DVD!!!

"Mighty Pawns" was an excellent movie. It grasps your attention and it's educational. Helps children to see that they can do anything in life if they only try and believe. They can reach the stars no matter where they live, color of skin or financial background.
